The split personality of Pelham Rugby continued Sunday during two matches played on the Iona College field.
The U13 team faced a very strong Lycee Francais and did not fair well. The team continues to be plagued by the same mistakes, including not committing to the tackle, not spreading out and not rucking. Unfortunately, the results have been the same . The final score was 55-10 in favor of Lycee. James Bristow and Sofia Imperato scored the Pelham trys.
Imperato with some long runs, Bristow, Adam Razik, Tamio Shibasaki, Cameron Ward and Nick Lapponese all had strong games, Player of the match went to Quinn Scanlon.
The U15s continue to dominate, this time facing off against an unknown Cheshire, CT, team.
The morning of the game, the team learned Player of the Match from the previous week, Morgan Collins, would be out after cutting himself preparing a bagel for his mother that morning (ok, for himself but it sounded better).
Pelham scored early and often, eventually winning 72-7. Try scorers included Cian Burns, Josh Quinn, Kevin Ndou (2), Matt Biskup, Luke Persanis (2) and Whit Johnson.
Honorable mentions for Player of the Match went to Matt Biskup, Matt Rabinowitz, Persanis, Johnson, Jean Vigroux, Quinn Scanlon and Kees Huisman for losing a tooth and not stopping playing (baby tooth). But man of the match went to Joe Nelson for his aggressive tackling and lineout display.
